“I could not help myself” and beautiful day here is Northampton, Mass. On my way to the fields.

I have not up-dated in a bit and the changes are obvious. We now have a concrete sidewalk along one side of the field, light posts and the start of a fence. In addition the lights from the tennis court, that was removed, have now been placed back up against the new exterior court fence.

Here you can see the light posts moves to be next to the court!

I leave you with this video below, from today! I am heading to the beach for a little vacation and will be back on the 5th of July!  I can not wait to see what a week away looks like.

I took a walk out to the construction site after one day away! In my day away I had several individuals stop by my office to say “Did you See it TODAY!?” So I had to stop by and see the changes.  Each time I stop by I usually engage in a conversation with a member of Smith’s Grounds keeping crew, they too have been keeping a close eye on the new fields progress! Today while chatting with Steve, I learned about a Cherry Tree that was planted as a memorial close to the field construction  and was removed and re-planted up on the hillside (check out this article from The Gate)                http://www.smith.edu/news/2009-.10/cherrytree.php                              There is even a mention of the field construction, within the Gate article!!

Enjoy the new video and photos!!!

This is such an exciting time for Smith College and our Field Hockey program!

On Tuesday 4/28 Smith held our End of the year Sports Banquet. This Banquet honors all Smith athletes and their accomplishments and succesees. We also take the time to honor our seniors and wish them well.

Trina - Last Home Game

We are sad to say goodbye to #3 Trina Campbell. She is a strong leader and talented athlete that has contributed to this program for 4 years. Coming to us from California her laid back, plant loving- chill side is a joy to be around.  We will miss her not so laid back speed and aggressive play on the field. Trina was capable of receiving anything that came with in a few yards of her, always running to every ball and making it hers. Her drive was lighting quick and wicked powerful.

Trina thank you for a great 4 years!   We will ALL miss you!!
